HIM Thesis Support

The UWC offers support for you while you write your HIM thesis. We can help you at any stage in the writing process, from outlining and generating ideas to reviewing your finalized draft. Consultants can provide feedback on writing or formatting issues.

Semester of Directed Reading
During the semester dedicated to directed readings for your thesis, the UWC can assist with:
• Preparation of Prospectus
• Maintaining a Reference Page
• "Chunking" thesis chapters with current research

Semester of Defense
The UWC can support thesis writers during the semester of defence with:
• Outlining Chapters
• Chapter Reviews
• General Revision
• Notice of Defense
• Preparing for the Format Review (required)

Preparing for the Format Review
For the format review, you will meet with a UWC consultant to review elements of your thesis such as headings, table of contents, page numbers, references, and margins. The format review focuses strictly on the format of the thesis, not the content.

In order for this consultation to be effective, the following pages of the thesis should be completed: Title page, Abstract, Table of Contents, Litst of Tables, Figures or Symbols (if used), first pages of each chapter, Reference page. Please bring a printed copy of these pages to your preparing for the format review consultation.

Dropping off Your Final Copy
You must drop off your final thesis copies at the UWC by the specified deadline. See the consultant at the front desk for help.
