Schedule Availability Form
Fall 2008

Due date: Schedule requests should be submitted by Tuesday, August 5.

Schedules will be distributed on Tuesday, August 12.

We will accept amendments to your request due to changes in your course schedule only up until the last day of add/drop: August 29. After this date, any changes that need to be made to your schedule are your responsibility.  
While filling out the form, keep the following in mind: travel time, time off campus needed for your studies, whether you prefer long days on campus or a few hours on campus, and what your UWC schedule will look like in addition to your course schedule. Please fill in the schedule availability form as accurately as possible. All fields in the schedule grid will need to be selected in order to submit the form.

List your class schedule for the fall. ( e.g. M/W 2:30-3:50 Advanced Toenail Painting)

List your other required commitments.  (e.g. Society for Young Existentialists Mondays 7-8p)

Tell us anything else we should know when scheduling you. (e.g. I've been working at UCF for four years and have always been stuck with crummy hours.)

How many hours/week (between 4-20 hrs/wk) would you consider ideal?

Weekly Availability

1. Cross out any time that you have class with an X. (you will need to cross out any time when the class extends into the next hour. Ex. If you class is from 10:00-11:15, cross out both the 10:00-11:00 and the 11:00-12:00 hour).
2. Cross out the hour before class with an X. (Using the example above, you would cross out the 9:00-10:00 hour). We ask that you do not give availability the hour before class begins to ensure that you arrive to class on time and that your work with us does not interfere with your classes.
3. Cross out any times/ days that you absolutely cannot work with an X. (Ex. Cannot work mornings because of traffic or Sundays because of family obligations).
4. Cross out any times in which you have other obligations with an X such as: Swing nights at the Big Bamboo, Society for Young Existentialists, etc.
Remember that crossing out too much time can have an inverse effect; extremely limited availability will result in extremely limited hours assigned.
5. Assign the remaining hours available to work as most preferable =1, preferable=2, least preferable=3. Note, we will try to schedule within your preference; however, if the demand is present, we may schedule during a least preferable time.
